Fire helmet from Germany. Form like helmet M1943. Helmet bowl made of sheet steel. Helmet crest made of aluminum. The helmet was made in the period between 1945-1956. Starting in 1956, the normalization of the German Firefighters helmet began. The helmet is the predecessor of the helmet number 099. The helmet (along with 5 other helmets) comes from the fire department of the municipality of Kirchentellinsfurt. Kirchentellinsfurt is a municipality in Baden Württemberg, located about seven kilometers east of Tübingen and seven kilometers northwest of Reutlingen.
Belonging to the helm is a respirator mask including quiver. The mask is similar to the masks from the Second World War (see number 0011). Manufacturer of the mask is the company Dräger, Lübeck. The year of manufacture is 1964. On the quiver the company Auer Berlin is stamped. Quiver and mask are very likely different dated.

A brief overview of the DIN14940:
DIN 14940 came into existence only after the Second World War. First, in February 1956 there was a pre-standard for the helmets. Then there was the 1st standard for the fire protection helmet in January 1962. At the meeting of the standards committee AA1 in May 1964 the standard sheet 14940 was adopted. Only here was the color exactly defined. Although the color had already been approved in yellow-green in the first pre-standard, black helmets (in Bavaria red helmets) could still be worn. The chairman of the standards committee was the construction manager, Dipl. Ing. Seegerer.
The DIN14940 changes:
June 1954, draft

December 1981, subsequent edition
August 1982, subsequent edition
July 1985, follow-up edition

In December 1997 DIN 14940 is replaced by EN 443. It was then called DIN EN 443 before the designation was changed to EN443
