United States Synthetic helmet (˜2002)
In this collection since: 04.07.2010
0362 Fire helmet from the USA.
The fireman's helmet from the company MSA was built specifically for the U.S. American market. The type of "Fire Knight" is based here very close to the European helmet examples of the type "F1". The helmet was placed on the period between 2002 and 2003 on the market in the U.S. but not adopted. The helmet was first built by the company CGF Gallet, and later by the successor MSA Gallet. Therefore, the helmets has different markings on the side. Inside there are three labels with French and English words. After these stickers, there are the following information: date of manufacture 15.05.2002, Manufacturer: CGF Gallet Inc. 30 Industrial Road, Newport Vermont, USA 05 855, according to NFPA 1971 in the 2000 edition. However, there is also a small sticker that says: Made in Canada.
The fire helmet was used as a rescue helmet at the EMT organization. (Emergency Medical Technical). A unit, that works especially there, where technical assistance and medical care stands at first.
Because of the various stickers on the helmet is likely that the helmet was used in a spezial unit of the safety unit of auto racing.
The blue helmet is constructed of polycarbonate, such as European or MSA Gallet helmets. On the side, there are the fixtures for the mask, further, there is a little eye protection visor and a larger face shield, both can be inserted into the helmet. Both visors are clear. Inside the helmet, there is a shock absorption system installed, the inner helmet can be adjusted with a ratchet system. The chin strap is secured at 3 points on the helmet, the two at the side have a double leather. A quick release plastic is used to open, by a metal clamp the length could be setted. The nack protection, made of Nomex, has similar dimensions as a Holland cloth and the front can be closed under the chin. Externally are mounted several stickers. In addition to the standard yellow marking is a semicircular Rescue sticker with a blue cross and Aesculapius characters are seen. Further, there are stickers of "Sports Car Club of America" and "Emergency Medical Technician Florida" and a label "343 FDNY" in reference to the 343 victims of the FDNY at the 11th September 2001. At the front, another badge with the inscription "EMT", about a badge "Motorsports Rescue Team"
