Fire helmet from Germany. The brass helmet comes from the South German town of Staufen im Breisgau. The helmet in the Württemberger form was created around 1880. Striking are the high, short comb which is soldered onto the helmet shell as well as the three circumferential grooves at the connection between the helmet shell and the brim. At the front, the badge of the fire department of Staufen is attached. The embossed brass badge shows an escutcheon with the coat of arms of Staufen (Three Cups) surrounded by oak leaves and a mural crown. For the commander of the fire brigade a red horse hair bush was mounted on the comb.
