In this collection since: 12.05.2017 |
0930 |
Fire helmet from France. The unusual helmet is very similar to the cork helmets from Belgium and England. (See helmets number 0469, Belgium and 0416 Great Britain). However, the outer layer of the helmet is made of linen. Among them, the helmet is probably made of cork. The helmet is very light, the helmetshelll and the rim are flexible. The inner helmet is connected to the helmet shell at 8 points. The headband is made of leather. It is not adjustable. The leather chin strap has a two-point attachment. The helmet has no evidence of age or manufacturer. The helmet is said to date from around 1950. He was worn at French civil protection units. |
