Turkey Synthetic helmet (˜1980)
In this collection since: 10.05.2017
0928 Fire helmet from Turkey. The red plastic helmet was worn by the professional fire department of the city of Istanbul. The fire station in Istanbul-Üsküdar had this helmet as a test helmet in use in the early 1980s. The fire station was supposed to test how well you could hear in full-face helmets with different types of helmets. The helmets were not introduced. Instead, they decided to take the new developed half-shell helmet Heros from the company Rosenbauer from Austria. The helmet seems similar to the police helmet number 0759 Netherlands. Switzerland also wore a comparable helmet called "Kresa EP16". At the helmet there is no indication of a manufacturer. The thin helmet shell has a metal-enclosed eyeshield on which the visor is locked in the closed position. Lateral brass cockades are more appropriate for jewelry. The inner helmet made of PVC is comparable to the inner helmets of the company Schuberth from Germany. The inlays, built according to DIN4840, were mainly used in the export models of the company Schuberth. The fabric chin strap is attached only at two points. It can be adjusted by two metal eyelets. The long neck protector made of leather is typical for Turkish helmets. It is attached directly to the helmet shell. At the front is the metal badge of the Turkish fire departments.
