0869 Fire helmet from Austria. Helmet of a sergeant. Today about group and platoon leaders. In the 1910 catalog of Konrad Rosenbauer from Linz the helmet is described as follows: Metal helmet painted black or leathered. Upper Austrian form with laterally continuous brim, high, thin comb on flange. Side brass rails. Brass applications. Comb number 804, side ornament number 817Chinstrap with round lion head rosettes number 825. Beautiful emblem with red area, four hands reaching out. A very common symbol in the fire department. It symbolizes mutual help. Among them is the motto of the fire brigade: Gott zur Ehr – dem Nächsten zur Wehr (God for honor - the neighbor for defense). The inner helmet is new replaced. The inside is green and black repainted. The leather underlay of the scales chain is also modern replaced.
