Fire helmet from Germany. The leather helmet shown here is probably one of the most leather helmets built in Germany. The helmet arose after the first world war. It was derived from the M15 used in the German Army. The army helmet M15 was often converted to a fire helmet. The helmet has a brass comb, the brim is covered with brass, the side cockades for fastening the chin strap are also made of brass. Interesting is the stamp inside: Hermann Koebe - Fire brigade equipment factory - Luckenwalde. On June 11, 1878, Hermann Koebe, the fire brigade engineering pioneer, founded the Hermann Koebe fire brigade equipment factory in Luckenwalde near Berlin. Rosenbauer-Feuerwehrtechnik GmbH continues its tradition in the former Koebe- Werk II. The helmet was used between 1915 and 1934. On the front is the coat of arms of Saxony.
