South-Korea Synthetic helmet (˜2000)
In this collection since: 28.01.2016
0760 Fire helmet from South Korea. The manufacturer of the helmet is the Korean company SanCheong. The helmet made of polycarbonate was built for the technical assistance units (Rescue). It is very similar to helmet number 0254, South Korea. While helmet 0254 was built in 2005, this helmet appears older. Its inner helmet is not so comfortable, the lining is missing. No reference is made to the age of the helmet. Assuming that the helmet is between the older helmets 0221, 0222 (1990) and the new helmet 0254 (2005), this helmet could be classified to the year around 2000. Whether the helmet type is also called SCA 1209 AN as its successor is not clear. Yellow characters are attached on the side and back. The back sign means "fire brigade", on the right stands "technical assistance", and on the left stands "professional fire brigade No-Won". No-Won is the city where the helmet was used. The uniform symbol of the fire brigades of South Korea is attached. The helmet has a surrounding rubberized edge protector, it is lined with polystyrene like its predecessors. Firefighters below Lieutenant used white helmets, officers from Lieutenant used green helmets. The head size is only conditionally adjustable. For this purpose, the loose plastic flaps of the inner helmet are connected at the ends with a cord and thus reduced in diameter. The successor helmet will have a rotary screw for adjustment. There is no neck protection on the helmet. But one can be installed. A zip fastener is installed for the attachment.
