In this collection since: 22.01.2016
0753 In memory of Dennis S. McGarry Senior

Fire helmet from the USA. Manufacturer is Cairns and Brothers, the helmet type is called "TenTen" (1010). The Helmserie 1000, 1010 and 1044 was made from Kevlar. They are helmets in the classic American helmet form. This models extends the model "990 Intruder". The 990 has been manufactured from Kevlar since 1985, but does not have the traditional shape. The Model 1010 was launched in 1992. It follows the helmet model 1000, which was built in 1990. In addition to the modern fiber material Kevlar, Cairns & Brothers also uses a Nomex neck protection. The inner helmet is adjusted via a ratchet system. The chin strap has a quick-release plastic closure and a metal closure to adjust the length. Inside the helmet there is an absorption layer. A visor is attached on the outside. The helmet is from the fire department of the city of Detroit. The front shield on this helmet is special. Normally Leather fronts or stickers are attached at the front of the helmets. This helmet is fitted with a metal front shield. On the red front plate stands with golden letters "E 32" (Engine 32). The engine 32 is stationed together with Medic 23 and Chief 6 in the fire station 11740 E. Jefferson / hard 48214. Engine 32 is part of the Battalion 6. The Detroit fire brigade currently operates 47 fire engines in 34 fire stations in the city. The fire brigade of Detroit currently has 830 firefighters.
The fire helmet belonged to Dennis S. McGarry. He was previously stationed on the ladder "L 21". This is also the reason why the front shield is red. Firefighter Dennis S. McGarry Senior was born on 23 November 1967 and died on 14 October 2012 during a mission.
Dennis served from 09.03.1992 until the day of his last alarm on 14.10.2012. He is the former owner of this helmet.
