Uruguay Synthetic helmet (˜1980)
In this collection since: 28.12.2015
0742 Fire helmet from Uruguay. Manufacturer is the company Nibo Plast Uruguaya S.A.C.I. in Montevideo. The helmet model is Uruguaya Tipo 1 - Clase A. The company Nibo manufactures plastic products in Montevideo since 1955. The yellow glass fiber helmet has the classic form of American fire helmets. While the exterior is smooth, the inner structure is clearly visible. Inside is a plastic inner helmet. On this, the name of the manufacturer and its location can be seen. The inner helmet is adjustable to the head size. The chin strap of fabric and the leather neck protector, as well as the inner helmet, are attached directly to the helmet. The chin strap has no closure. However, it can be adjusted in length on both sides. The visor is also attached on both sides. On the front is a leather front shield. On it, there are two badges made of sheet metal. On the one hand the lettering "Bomberos" (fire brigade), and on the other hand a fire brigade badge. This shows a helmet, crossed axes in a laurel or oak leaf wreath. The production time should be around 1980. The helmet was wused by an officer.
