| 0705 | Fire helmet from the USA. Manufacturer is the company D. Bullard. The helmet type is called "Fire Dome". The black plastic helmet made of glass fiber was produced in May 1950. It is an early model of this helmet type. The most striking characteristic is the outer visible cord with which the inner helmet is attached to the helmet. In later helmets, the inner helmet is riveted to the helmet. In addition, the company logo "Hard Boiled" is attached to the front screen. (See helm 0239, USA) This helmet type was produced by the company Bullard predominantly for US military fire brigades. The three combs, which are relatively low and run side by side at a distance of approx. 45mm, are distinctive. At the front is a leather badge with the inscription "USA FD" attached. The helmets of the military bases in the USA and also Germany were equipped with this front plate. (See helmet 0705) Around 1965 the front plate was removed and only the letters "FD" were glued (see helmet 0711/0767). Later helmet generations, as from the year 2000 on, had no more badges.
