United States Synthetic helmet (˜1960)
In this collection since: 29.07.2015
0693 Fire helmet from the USA. The manufacturer is Cairns & Brothers, USA. The helmet model from the "Flint Flex Series" is called "900 Clifton". The helmet was built around 1960. The Flint Flex series was the first helm series built by Cairns at the new location in Ney Jersey. In addition, Cairns switched from metal helmets to the lighter helmets made of phenolic resin. The series included the helmets "No 910 Continental" (see helmet 672), model "No 900 Clifton" (see this helmet), model "No 725 Cavallier" (see helmet 692) and model "No 720 Commando" (see helmet 446 ). The helmets had an eyelet on the rear screen for hanging the helmet. The inner helmet was fastened to the helmet by a round cord, the cord or cord was covered with an adhesive tape. The glass fiber fabric can be seen very well in this model. On the front is a high leather front shield. It has a red base color and a white one on it. Below it, there are the letters for the Fire department: "LCFD". The red basic color should stand for the firefighters of a turntable. LCFD stands for the Lake Carmel Fire Department. The fire brigade has existed since 1945 and is only maintained by volunteer firefighters.
