Steel helmet (˜1934)
In this collection since: 02.06.2015 |
0683 |
Fire helmet from Germany. The steel helmet corresponds to the military helmet M1933 but with a sharp-edged approach of the neck protector, which was prescribed with order of 26.04.1934 as a fire protection helmet. Emblems on the helmet according to the regulation of 28.07.1934 show on the left the eagle of the fire protection police (Marking: fire-brigade police by silver-colored frame around the coat of arms shield) as also worn on the hat, on the right the black Hakenkreuz in round, white field on red shield. Both badges were denazified after the war. They were made unrecognizable by overpainting. The detachable comb was removed by order of the Chief of the Ordnungspolizei, but the holes were not closed. Normally, flattened rivets should have been used here. The helmet has no stamp. |
