0679 Firefighter helmet from London, capital of Great Britain. Manufacturer is the company Helmets Ltd., the helmet type is called Cromwell, the Model: County. The black lacquered cork helmet was produced in 1980. For details of the helmet, see helmet 0026, UK.
The badge of the "Salvage Corps" is attached to the helmet. The Corps was founded in 1865. It began its work in March 1866. In 1984 the corps was dissolved. There were 5 stations in London that were busy all day and were connected to the fire department. The task of the Salvage Corps was to save values and to ensure it in case of fire and also to support the work of the fire brigade and to supervise it.
The Salvage Corps was payed by insurance companies.
