Spain Synthetic helmet (˜1983)
In this collection since: 11.12.2014
0642 Firefighter helmet from Spain. The manufacturer of the helmet is the American company MSA (Mine Safety Appliances Company, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA) and MSA Espanola S.A. The model is called Fire Cap. It can be assumed that MSA manufactures concession helmets for Spain in Spain. The yellow polycarbonate helmet is designed in the typical American shape with long neck protection and integrated comb. The brim is protected by a black edge protection, at the rear is an eyelet for hanging the helmet. Side clips with approx. 2cm large knurled nuts keep a clear eye protection visor. At the front is a decal with the inscription "Generalitat de Catalunya - Bombers" and the coat of arms of the region. On the side and back is a approx. 100x35mm large gray reflex sticker. The inner helmet reminds of a construction helmet, a neck protection cloth is attached to the surrounding, very high (about 50mm) welding cloth. At the rear of the helmet is the manufacturer’s name: "MSA - Fire-Cap". On the left side are notes from the Ministry of Labor (helmet safe, no metal, resistance to pollution and temperature), on the right side is the age (approx. 1983)
