| 0639 | Fire helmet from the former GDR. The gray helmet is an attempt to modernize the previously customary helmets made of thermoset. (See helmet 390). This helmet is a duroplast embroidery pattern. Manufacturer is the VEB Perfect. In 1960 the helmet was handed over to some fire brigades for test purposes. However, the helmet has not proven itself due to the low strength and did not come to the production standard. In 1962 the TGL 121-940.01 was introduced. Since 1962, it has been regulating the manufacture of fire helmets. TGL were the technical standards, quality regulations and delivery conditions the 1955 to 1990 in the GDR was the correspondence with the West German DIN standards. 121 was the fire protection and fire department. The new helmets were made of fiberglass. (See helmet 399) | ||||
