Morocco Steel helmet (˜1956)
In this collection since: 15.08.2014
0616 Fire helmet from Morocco. The fire helmet is basically a French fire helmet. The helmet is based on the Adrian M26 army helmet, but was built as a M33 with a new comb for the fire brigade. The helmet was thus used in almost all French fire brigades until the beginning of the 1980s. See helmets 38/385/452. As a French protectorate between 1912 and 1956, Morocco was influenced by France. For example, the French fire service helmet can also be found in Morocco. However, the helmet does not have the usual badge in the front, but a brass badge. The center of the emblem is the red pentagram. It is the seal of Solomon, which can also be seen on the Moroccan flag. The flag was introduced in 1915 and adopted as a flag in the year of independence in 1956. The text about it is fire brigade Morocco. It is the translation from the French Sapeurs Pompiers Marocaine to the Arabic language. The helmet was worn from 1956 onwards. The badge was matched with the helmets. In Gallet's subsequent helmets there is a simpler badge on the front.
