Czechia Sheet steel helmet (˜1925)
In this collection since: 13.08.2014
0615 Fire helmet from the Czech Republic (Czechoslovakia). The nickel-plated commander's helmet was worn in the period around 1925 and was produced between 1867 and 1918. From Wikipedia: Czechoslovakia is the name of the state in the period between 1918 and 1939 and 1945 to 1992. Czechoslovakia was created as a state in 1918 by the disintegration of Austria-Hungary at the end of the First World War. It consisted of Bohemia, Moravia, Silesia, Slovakia and the Carpathian Ukrainian (until 1946/48). The official languages were Czech, Slovakian and Ukrainian. The helmet comes from the production of Konrad Rosenbauer in Linz, Austria. At the time of the Austro-Hungarian Donaumonarchy, he was the largest producer of fire helmets and fire extinguishers. In the catalog of Rosenbauer you can find the helmet under the number 1095. It is described as commander's helmet with wide comb, bayonet band. The comb and shields are made of brass. The ridge is attached to the helmet with 6 rivets. The badge mounted on the front is the coat of arms of the Czech Republic. This coat of arms ("small coat of arms") was worn between 1920 and 1960. The small state coat of arms shows the silver, double-tailed lion on a red ground, a sign of Bohemia, the latter carrying a double cross, the coat of arms of Slovakia.
