Fire helmet from the USA. The black Kevlar helmet was manufactured by Cairns & Brothers. The type is: 1000. Date of manufacture is 04/01/1992. The Helmserie 1000 began with this type of helmet in 1990. The successor models are the 1010 (tenten) in 1992 (see helmet 753) and 1044 in 2005. The helmets are available optionally with goggles, visor or the traditional Bourk Eyes. On the manufacturer’s label inside the helmet, the following entries are to be read: Cairns & Brothers - Classic STD 1000 red - Size ADJ - NFPA 1972 - (87). On the front is a leather front plate in black. Black is the marking for a fire engine (engine or truck). For which the number 283 stands can not be clarified. That the number stands for the fire-fighting vehicle number would be obvious because behind the helmet is attached a mark on this firefighter A. Atwell has the number 47. |
