Fire helmet from the USA. The manufacturer of the black polycarbonate helmet is Cairns & Brothers. The type is called 880 Century. The helmet model was launched by Cairns & Brothers in 1972. The valid standardization at the time was the ANSI. Z89.1-1969. The helmet was modeled on the usual leather helmets of this time. The later model 881 also offered a folding visor. The red front plate bears the inscription "Truck 1 BFD". Truck 1 is the Hook and Ladder Company No. 1 of the Baldwin Fire Department in the US state of New York. The red color of the front plate characterizes the belonging to a turntable ladder truck. |
