France Steel helmet (˜1960)
In this collection since: 29.03.2014
0592 Fire helmet from France. The shape corresponds to the former military helmet type Adrian. Aluminum, chrome, brass fittings, also the peripheral edge is made of brass. Later this was also chromed. Use within 1950 - 70. The coat of arms corresponds to the typical emblem of the French fire brigades. Instead of the usual grenade in the middle of the badge is here to see a tower with about crossed pimples. Instead the wording "Sapeurs Pompiers de ..." is read "Mines Dominales De Potasse D'Alsace" here. The Mines de Potasse d'Alsace are located in the Avenue Joseph Else 68310 Wittelsheim in (10km north-west of Mulhouse). The company produced in the period from 1910 to 2004 potash that inter alia in glassmaking finds use. The fire department of the company was responsible for countless mines and 10 production plants between Ensisheim and Wittelsheim in Alsace.
