0548 Fire helmet from Romania. The dark green phenolic resin helmet was manufactured by the French company Petit Collin Paris. The helmet was worn in France in the period between 1950 and 1960. It was used extensively by the units of civil protection (Passive Defense). The shape of the helmet was based at that time surely on the army steel helmets of the type Adrian. This army helmets were produced in various versions from 1915 to 1960 of metal. Their form was typical for France. The phenolic resin helmet takes the form of the comb and the surrounding helmet brim. The material thickness is about 4 mm, which makes the helmet quite heavy. The inner helmet consists of a strap made of linen and leather. The harness is connected to a cord and leather straps with the helmet brim. Later helmets from Petitcollin, manufactured since 1960 from polycarbonate, took over this inner helmet. (See helmet 39/470).
The helmet was used in various French colonies and in Romania as a fire helmet. There he found between 1950 and 1960 usage. He was then replaced by a Romanian helmet, which very inspired in the form of its predecessor.
