0545 Fire helmet from the USA. Lightweight aluminum helmets were originally developed in the USA for units of forest fire fire brigade. They called this type of helmets "Hard Hat". Later this developed into a safety helmet which was worn among others, even at plant fire brigades. The manufacturer of this helmet is not known. But it is very likely a German company. In the inside of the rear screen, the initials CBM are attached (in a triangle). In addition, the DIN 1725 (quality of rolled aluminum products) and an indication of the alloy (Al-Cu-M6-F.39)
The helmet was built around 1960. The helmet bell has a peripheral rim. This is crimped to gain the edge. On the top of the helmet elevations are pressed for stiffening. The inner helmet made of leather is connected to 4 rivets with the helmet bowl. The chin strap is made of cloth fabric. He has a 4-point attachment and a simple length adjustment. There is an aluminum badge on the front. It shows the coat of arms of the German state of Hessen. The helmet comes from the area of Darmstadt. Because it is not a classic, German fire helmet, you could place him in the area of mining and mining system.
