Japan Synthetic helmet (˜1970)
In this collection since: 07.03.2013
0516 Japanese standard fire helmet of the fire brigade Tokyo made of fiberglass. This helmet shape, which has French and American style elements, was introduced after the second world war. The traditionally established shoulder protection finds further use, however, but is not present here. The silver- colored helmet from 1970 has a redcircumferential, 6mm wide strip, which indicates a unit leader. Helmets starting from 1980 have an eye protection which is pushed into the helmet. (See helmet 517) At the front is gold attached, the emblem of the Fire Department Tokyo. The helmet interior is very simple and reminiscent to a construction helmet. The attachment of the neck cloth is made by snaps. They are also the fixing points from the interior helmet to the helmet bowl. The helmet shell has a 14mm thick lining of hard polystyrene as penetration protection, and shock absorption. The chin strap is, like the inner helmet, extremely poor. Although he is to be adjusted, but has no opening opportunity. On the inside back is the emblem from the Manufacturer: Kobayashi Fire Protectives Co. Ltd. The helmet type is called: H246
