Sheetsteel helmet (˜1820)

Fire helmet from France. The black sheet iron helmet was worn in the period around 1820. Compared with the helmets that were built around 1800 (see helmet 441/497/499), has already made the helmet bell here in one piece.
Eyes and neck shield are connected at the side. Both shields are seamed with a bead on the helmet bowl. Eye and neck shield are provided with a brass bezel. Lateral brass rosettes keep the chin scales, which consist of pressed brass. The inside of the shed chain is provided with leather and padded with cardboard. At the front is a brass badge. It shows two crossed axes.
