Fire helmet from Switzerland. The helmet in external shape is similar to the fire brigade helmets at this time. However, the helmet is not made of steel but of leather. The light leather helmet was purchased for units that were entrusted with elekro work during operations. Background for this was the protection against electricity in these missions. In principle, here already was running, which is starting from 1997 with the EN 443. The helmet was manufactured around 1945 initially made of leather, then from about 1960, it was made of plastic. With the introduction of the new generation of helmets made of plastic in the 1970, the production of these helmets ran out. (See Helm 004). The helmet interior is the same as on the steel helmet. The chin strap of leather is fitted with a leather length adjustment. The helmet bowl is approx 4mm thick. At the front, the coat of arms of the professional fire brigade Zurich is attached.
