| 0476 | Fire helmet from Switzerland. The helmet consists of a helmet bowl from felt, over it is a steel cover sheet attached. Eye and neck guard and the side guard are made of leather. The helmet interior is made of leather, like on the brass helmets at this time. The helmet was worn around 1860. Maybe, the helmet was the attempt to make the common felt hats (see Helm 474) safer and suitable for the use in the risers and the syringe team. | ||||||
