Brazil Synthetic helmet (˜1950)

0437 Fire helmet from Brazil. The striking, red helmet was worn at 1950 in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It was manufactured by Trindade & Nelson, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The helmet is not made of leather. It consists of a plastics material, inside green and rough, outside covered with a tissue. The edges are trimmed with a band of fabric and sewn to the helmet bowl. The high comb of brass screwed very easily and inside the helmet bowl. The high comb of brass is very easily and it is inside screwed to the helmet bowl. The scales brass chain is only hinted at. It does not consist of individual parts. The ruffles on the sides are light and very thin. The emblem on a jagged brass plate is made of steel cast contours and colored enamel. It shows a coat of arms, behind this a torch and two crossed axes. Below curls a tube with two old beamlines. Hemmed is the emblem with a brass application.
The helmet is the predecessor of the leather helmet number 68 which was created in the period around 1960.
