Latvia Synthetic helmet (˜2000)
In this collection since: 17.09.2011
0388 Fire Helmet from Riga, Latvia. The black helmet, made from polycarbonate, is a Ukrainian production. Manufacturer and type are unfortunately not known, inside the helmet there is no indication. The helmet was used at the State Fire and Rescue Service of Latvia (UGUNSDZESIBAS DEPARTMENT - Division of Fire Prevention / VALST UGUNSDZESIBAS UN GLABSANAS DIENESTS - State Fire and Rescue Service) in the Latvian capital Riga in the years from 1997 to 2005. The helmet in the classic American form replaced the old helmets of the type KZ91 (see Helm 386). The formerly white helmets were adjusted in the optics onto the predecessor helmets with red reflective stripes and the coat of arms. The "7" on the helmet stands for Fire Station 7 is also called "Brigade of the rapid reaction" . In Riga was the helmet used until the year 2005 and then replaced against the Croatian helmet Compacta PU from the company PAB (see Helm 284). The helmet is made of very thick material at the peripheral rim, the helmet bell is even thinner. The inner helmet is plugged in at 4 points in the helmet shell and adjustable rear in size. At these four points, also the very long and inside with fabric-covered, leather-brown neck is attached. A face shield may be attached at the side of the brim, the holes are required for this closed with blind rivets.
At the front is the badge of the VALST UGUNSDZESIBAS UN GLABSANAS SERVICES (State Fire and Rescue Service) installed.
