United States Synthetic helmet (˜1974)

0380 Fire helmet from the USA. The yellow polycarbonate helmet was made by the manufacturer Signal Division / Federal Signal Corporation. The type: Federal FH-2. It was made at 1974. Signal Division has divided the types of helmets for innovations in series.
This helmet is from series-FH-2 series A3. Der helmet was built according to ANSI standard Z90.1a. The helmet makes a very solid impression. The helmet bell, complete framed with a edge protection, recalls in its original form to the German helmets DIN 14940. The visor is mounted separately as same as the rigid neck protection and the visor. These components are also made of polycarbonate. The rigid neck flap can be fastened by five buttons. The helmet interior consists only of the headband. This is adjustable up to the head sizes of 6.5 to 8. Inside is a plastic foam layer inserted which is attached by a Velcro fastener.
The chin strap is made of polyester, it can be open and close very cumbersome.
On a sticker on the inside are the material specifications and cleaning instructions in English, a reference to the manufacturer's located at the front of the sticker. Here the company Federal Signal Corporation from Blue Island Illinois is specified.
The name "Bamberg" can be read inside and an inscription is scratched into "U.S. FireDept." According to information provided by the U.S. Army Bamberg these helmets was used at the U.S. fire brigade around 1980. The helmet had replaced the typical American Helmets wich have been previously worn. Until the dissolution of USFW in 1994, the helmets were used. Today, at the base in only the department, "Fire Prevention" left.
