Netherlands Synthetic helmet (˜1970)
In this collection since: 19.02.2011
0373 Fire helmet from the Netherlands.
The polycarbonate helmet, used at the fire department Belfeld, was first produced by the German company Römer and later by the Dutch company Kraaijer Wormerveer as model Holland.
The helmet was used in the period between 1968-1990, parallel with the helmet No: 102. The helmet replaced the German helmets that were worn after the war until the beginning of the 1960s. The Holland model, is based nearly on these predecessors, wich was used after the World War II often until the 1990s, in the Netherlands. The model Holland was first used with an aluminum comb, then with a brass comb and the uniform fire department insignia of the dutch fire brigades. The helmet, shown here, has besides the aluminium comb, two small plastic rosettes which are used for attaching the chinstrap and the neck protection, made from leather. The inner plastic helmet reminiscent of a building worker helmet. The head size adjustment and a leather strip at the front, make the helmet a little more comfortable. The approval marks on the inner helmet shows the production year 1974th. Successor of these helmet is the helmet Innova 2000 from the company Römer
