France Metal helmet (˜1926)
In this collection since: 21.12.2010
0366 Fire helmet from France. The helmet from the southern French city Jonquieres is a former steel helmet of the French army. The helmet, type Adrian M26, is the successor to the M15 helmet (see helmet 149) and predecessor of the M33 helmet (see helmet 38).
While the striking detail of the M15 is the peripheral bead, the M26 is to recognize on the 4 double rivets from the attachment of the inner helmet. The inner helmet itself is constructed much better, the helmet bowl is higher than the M15. The helmets of firefighters were originally painted dark blue (see helmet 149), later chrome plated. At the front, the uniform insignia of the French fire services is appropriate. The badge, as the helmet itself, is chrome plated.
