German Reich until 1918 Brass helmet (˜1870)

0363 Brass helmet in Württemberg form with horsehair bush. This helmet was worn in 1870 in a Fire Department in the county of Baden. The white and red horse hair bush marking the rank of the fireman. Officers wore white, Adjutants red and white horsehair. Since the regulation was not taken as accurate, it was obvious that commanders has had also black horsehair. The brass helmet itself is equal to the helmets of the normal firefighters. The comb was supplemented with a brass tip. On the upper end, the horsehairs was fixed. Manufacturer of the helmet is Magirus in Ulm a.d. Donau.
