Mexico Fiberglass helmet (˜2005)
In this collection since: 26.01.2010
0340 Fire helmet from Mexico. The white helmet (called Roman type) was, as same as the previus helmet number 150, made of fiberglass. The form similar to the old Henry helmets from England, has been modified in opposite to the predecessor. Inside, the helmet is lined with black leather, the inner helmet is made by upholstered foam, bonded directly to the helmet bell. A head size adjustment is not possible. The only available size is medium. The chin strap of leather and nylon can be adjusted through two eyelets in length. The edge of the helmet is protected by a leather glued on. The helmet was worn in the Mexican capital, Mexico City in the years from 1950 until 1970. He is used by the fire brigade units, emergency and rescue services. These helmets has also existed later with a visor, but that kind is really rare. Firefighters wear the helmet in black, red helmets are worn by captain and lieutenant. The ambulance service has yellow helmets and white helmets are worn by senior officers such as Fire Chief.
The brass badge on the front is the uniform insignia of the fire brigades of Mexico. It will not be worn on helmets wich are used every day in emergencies, they are reserved for representation purposes.
The first Mexican fire helmet (the predecessor of this helmet type) was made of leather. He was worn in the years 1920 to 1950 and was called „Roman“
Successor of this helmet is the helmet Aguila Negra (No.361) from 1970-1980 (was sometimes carried to 1992). In the years 1980-1995, in Mexico was used a yellow helmet from Bullard for firefighters. Since 1986, several American helmet types are used
