Portugal Synthetic helmet (˜1982)
In this collection since: 27.03.2009
0326 Helmet of the volunteer fire department Portugal. The white, in the volunteer firebrigade of Oliveira de Frade used polycarbonate helmet, is made by the U.S. helmet manufacturer "MSA" Pittsburgh, Pensylvenia. It was produced in 1982 as model Topgard and was probably until the year 2000 in use. The very lightweight helmet has a strikingly weak inner helmet. The model Topgard is approved as a firefighters helmet by ANSI Z89.1 1969 Class "D". At the front, the insignia of the volunteer firebrigade adorns the helmet. In the middle of the badge, you can see the rooster, the symbol of Portugal with the emblem of the city and the motto of the unit: "Vida por Vida" (life for life). The rooster, together withe the changing city name and coat of arms, is used by all volunteer firebrigades in Portugal. The 5 professional firebrigades in Portugal bear their own badges. (see helmet Portugal 265/266).
