Czechia Metal helmet (˜1930)
In this collection since: 28.09.2008
0319 Firefighters helmet from the former Czechoslovakia.
The black M30 steel helmet comes from the Czech army, this was based on the French army helmet Adrian M26, typical for it is the flat comb, the helmet bell itself, however, is significantly higher. The lateral openings on the underside of the comb provide ventilation inside the helmet. The inner helmet is not adjustable. The sheet metal band on which the leather flaps fort he head is fastened, is simultaneously headband and attachment. The massive, leather chinstrap was adjustable in the length and was sealed only by a hook.
The former Czechoslovakia has worn, like many countries of the former K & K monarchy, mostly helmets from Austria. The helmet diversity was very large and regionally diverse.
The badge with the vertically-ax behind the shield is typical of Czechoslovakia. It shows the lion (with two tails) from the state emblem. The linden leaves left and right of the heraldic shield correspond to the National tree of Czechoslovakia. The change to plastic helmets already occurred in 1970
