Fire helmet from South Africa. From which city the white synthetic material helmet comes, isn´t known. The helmet the manufacturer the American company Cairns & Brothers was, the type 660 is. The helmet, circulatingly labeled with three red, reflective stripes on the outside, is equipped with the usual neck guard and face protection visor. A coat of arms is appropriate at the front. The motto of this unity is written in Latin language on the coat of arms: "Progressio cum Populo" what "progress with the people" means. What this motto should say isn't known. Due to the white color (the positions marked with a white helmet in England as of station Officer) and the 3 red stripes can be suspected that the owner was a high officer. See also helmet number 24 and 69. |
