United States Synthetic helmet (˜1969)
In this collection since: 05.10.2004
0214 Fire helmet from the USA. According to information of a Belgian collector colleague the helmet was worn in Californien. The helmet is from the Californian Company Phenix Fire Helmets, the helmet type is „First Due“. The helmet is still produced today (2012). The black polycarbonat helmet resembles in his form very strongly to the synthetic material helmets of the U.S. company Akron at 1970 - 1974. A polycarbonat visor which also can be stated over the fastening screws is appropriate at the helmet. At the side on the visor stand: "Paulson SF- 4 Meets V-8, Made in the USA" and "not warranted shatterproof". In ear area, the neck cloth is considerably longer than in the neck. The helmet almost seems to be unused. The inside helmet is adjustable in the size of 6.5 to 8. A chinstrap is missing. This is fixed on to the same place like the visor. One sticker each at the side is appropriate. "Firefighter" stands silverly written on a red underground. The edge and the word are silverly reflective. Under this a badge can be seen. It is probably a uniform badge wich is often in use in the USA. Inside the helmet there is another sticker on this the following stands: „ Firecraft Helmet - Meets Requirements of ANSI Z89.1\1969“. The standards are revised every few years, so a dash followed by four numbers indicates the year of issue of the standard.
