Norway Synthetic helmet (˜1970)
In this collection since: 08.02.2004
0178 The blue synthetic material helmet of the Norwegian company Tommy from the city of Drammen in Norway was bought for all Norwegian fire departments. The type is called "Godkjent". He was worn within the years from 1970 to about 1995. The helmet as a successor of the helmet no.: 134 shows the same optics, the comb is integrated into the helmet bell in the meantime. In the past, the team (blue) and the officers (aluminum nature) were distinguished by each other by the helmet color. While fire chiefs were wearing the simple unspoilt helmet, commanding officers wore the natural-colored helmet with a little shack chain. Today there are different colors for the different functions: Orange for engineers, Yellow for rescue services, Red for fire chief and silver for the commanding officers. The badge was worne in all of Norway. In larger towns by team and officers though, in smaller towns or municipalities only by the officers. The uniform fire department emblem in the center of the star was replaced in fire departments in large towns like Oslo or Bergen by the municipal coat of arms. Nowadays the metal badge is replaced by an sticker. The neck leather reaching far forwards reminds strongly of today's Dutchman cloths.
