Third Reich until 1945 Metal helmet (˜1943)
In this collection since: 11.12.2003
0173 German fire helmet M42 after the armed forces steel helmet M1934 however with a sharp-egded approach of the neck guard, this one was dictated with order of 4-26-1934 as a fire safety helmet.
At the helmet after regulation of 7-28-1934 the emblems show on the left the Highness eagle as carried at the cap, on the right the black swastika in a round, white country on a red shield. Both badges have been assembled on the originally black helmet. The cooling holes were holes put a grate first, were then distributed around per 7 holes in the 1 cm. These got one stamped on the side of the work. The touchdown cash cockscomb (aluminum comb "brick breaker") was removed according to order of the boss of the order police, the holes were locked with flatly rounded blanks. The stamp behind and the manufacturer brand be missing. The very light aluminum helmet has to be dated on 1943. Inside the big cork pieces conspicuously are between inside helmet and helmet bell, the great, leather head flapper is just as conspicuous inside and which very much reach flatly rounded blanks for the comb holes. The neck leather is missing or seems to have never been assembled. The helmet and this one were situated nationality markings painted over with a white color and one wrote red the word "Fire" on the front on this helmet after the end of the II WK. Since the helmet comes around Siegburg presumably from the area (between Bonn and Cologne) this area was located in the British occupation zone. The allied victorious forces have reinstated the original fire department. All helmets were painted over red in Bavaria, in the Rhineland white with the identification "Fire".
