Syria Synthetic helmet (˜1990)
In this collection since: 09.02.2003
0154 Officer helmet from Syria with badges. The glass fiber helmet reminds in his form of the French helmets of the manufacturer "Petitcollin Paris" at 1960 to 1990. See no.: 39. The inside helmet is more than equipped miserably. There isn't any headband, merely 6 plastic ribbons make a distance between head and helmet bell. A chinstrap can be put in at the middle plastic ribbons. A neck leather isn't scheduled. The 5 indicated combs are relatively rare at helmets.
Factual stand 1995.
The red helmets are worn by team ranks, the white helmets are for head of operations/officers. The helmet badges are different for team and officers. The heads of operations have an additional, white, edge. The Arabian marking means "fire department" (see also helmet no.: 96). The helmets were component of a project for the obtaining of material, equipment and vehicles for the fire department and safety area. The helmets are used in the cities of Latakia, Banyas, Tartüs or in this coastal strip. In this coastal strip existed since then, no organized fire protection. A professional fire department equipped relatively well exists in the capital city Damaskus, not in the little citys or villages. There is a colored mess at the equipment and at the helmets. If helmets should be available, one meets English cork helmets, Italian MISPA and U.S. form, even old Adrian helmets from the time of the French occupation.
