New Zealand Leather helmet (˜1940)
In this collection since: 19.05.2002
0122 Helmet of the New Zealand Fire service made of leather, black paints. The helmet from the time at 1940 was in use at the Fire brigade Princetown. The helmet model Henry is, from an English production. The high, triangular comb made of wood, which one contains in front and behind a ventilating opening into the helmet, the indicated prolongation of the comb to the front shield, the very broadly nascent one neck signpost reaching far to below, are typical for this model. The helmet has an emblem stuck on in front, on what "New Zealand-Fire service" stands. The helmet further has a storm strap indicated from sheet brass with lateral, big hemispherical fastenings. The elastic chinstrap is also fastened on this. The inside helmet made of leather makes an unused impression. The helmet with his 5 mm thick leather all in all makes a very robust impression.
