Belgium Synthetic helmet (˜1975)
In this collection since: 08.05.2002
0110 Belgian fire helmet made of white synthetic material. After an American example these helmets are partly in use to this day since 1975. The helmet has a metal badge at the front, which one golden shows two crossed old axes connected with a cord. This helmet at 1980, is like the helmet: 59, he seems, however, newer. The helmet has a squarer, higher comb, the brim runs narrowly to behind, different as no.: 59. A red stripe circulatingly is appropriate at the helmet. After this stripe the ranks are divided up. Here the division: 1 small black stripe (approx. 1 cm) = a lance corporal (Korporaal); 2 small black stripes = a Noncom; 1 broad black stripe (1.5 -- 2 cm) Adjutant; a red stripe = an officer (second lieutenant); a red stripe with stars or a cross = Chief. While the helmet color also had a meaning in other countries, the helmets are white in Belgium uniformly. At the beginning of the 1980 years the black helmets was changed into white helmets, at the moment (stand 2005) the helmets are changed again into helmets in persistent color. At the inside helmet mountsare existing for a neck leather. The helmet seems unused.
