Austria Synthetic helmet (˜1970)
In this collection since: 10.02.2002
0093 Austrian fire helmet from Polycarbonat to ÖNORM F 4035. Helmet at 1970 from the upper Austrian town Wels. The helmet in the traditional form, has only a stylized "spider" as comb. Orbited an approx. 10 mm broad, red reflective ribbon which one is indicated below rank, lateral one yellow, reflective stripe on each side. The national coat of arms of Upper Austria in front. The helmet is yellowly flourescent. The name of the city of Wels is one stamped inside. The inside helmet according to DIN 4840 (this DIN is for work safety helmets) is extremely miserable for a FW helmet. The "expiration date" of the inside helmet is indicated with 1973. The chinstrap reminds to the German FW helmets. The helmet has possibly been painted afterwards yellowly since the yellowly flourescent helmets only at 1986 were manufactured. Since 1997 the following color signals of the helmet bow for the country of Salzburg being valid: Ranks on place level = yellow green persistently, Section commanding officer = silver, District commanding officer = yellowly, Country commanding officer = red.
