United Kingdom (UK) Cork helmet (˜1985)
In this collection since: 10.02.2002
0091 English fire helmet of the "Isle of Wight". The island lies in front of the southern coast of England. The yellow helmet produced in 1985 (Stamp behind inside) is, like on the island usual, made of cork. The cover however already made of synthetic material. (see helmet no.: 26 and 74) Type: Cromwell, model Firepro. Manufacturer is the English company Helmets Ltd. Rank of the Firefighter is "Fireman", because of the yellow helmet without stripes. It is striking that a circulating Klett ribbon is placed inside. A neck guard could possibly be attached here. Further, the two nuts let in inside at the side stand out. The helmet has the badge of the "Isle of Wight/Fire & Rescue service" in front. On both sides there are round about 75 mm great black points, with on the top standing, yellow four-sided figures. These seems to be produced themselves, however, could be the sign for catastrophe protection in England. Teh sign for catastrophe protection is an orange triangle in Germany.
